Cultutre of the Bodies



This exhibition, which was born in 1996 in Japan, and has been seen by more than 15 million people, comes to Colombia after having generated contraversia other Latin American countries.

"Bodies" was born as a project of the University of Michigan, led by Dr. Roy Glover, who had co objective of contributing to general knowledge we have of the human body and to that extent the public awareness on the effects of several elements, among these the snuff, you may have in our body.

Currently the exhibition has toured the world through Europe, Asia and North America to land recently in our continent.

In South America criticism bodies have not been waiting. In Brazil, several groups questioned the project calling it unethical. In Venezuela, President Hugo Chávez closed the exhibition was that it showed what was disgusting and, as he added nothing to the people.

Hna recently raised controversy over the origin of the bodies used in the exhibition. Although organizers say that the samples were donated by people who wanted to collaborate with science, there are reports of families who claim the bodies as those used for the exhibition has no permission to display them
